Okay, so we weren't completely truthful when we said that we would not recommend any creams to cure your unsightly cell phone, smart phone, PDA, etc display, because here I'm, about to do just that. Yes, its true, while these are not like facial creams and stuffed with vitamins and aloe vera and who knows what else, they are still used for the same purpose: to clear your display of scratches, scrapes, abrasions, etc. Just lightly apply the display polish/scratch remover and polish the scratched area whilst applying pressure for 2-3 minutes and when you are done you will notice that the scratches are noticeably reduced or completely removed. If necessary repeat the action to ensure that your display looks like new. Similarly, there are other products (to ensure that your device's display remains as clean and clear as possible) such as cleaning liquids, wipes, etc.

Batteries - from the AA size cells we use in practically every electronic device (from toys to portable music players) to car batteries, they are the force that drives all mobile and portable electronics. In the world of phones in particular, the use of batteries is the most surefire way of ensuring portability. Mobile devices such as cell phones, smart phones, PDAs, wireless phones, etc all use some form of batteries. Nowadays, the most common battery found in cell phones to PDAs is the Lithium Ion (Li-On) battery due to its energy-to-weight ratio, slow of loss charge and many other factors besides. Another popular form is the Lithium Ion Polymer (Li-Poly, also affectionately known as Lipos) battery which is being increasingly used in devices despite its high cost. Some common products which use Li-Poly batteries are PDAs such as the iPhone, laptop computers, portable MP3 players, Sony PS3 Wireless controllers, etc. Due to the light weight and flexibility of these batteries are also being used in radio-controlled aircraft, etc where weight and shape are of critical importance. These batteries do have their downsides (such as that the life of the battery is limited and not dependent on number of charges/discharges, Li-on batteries are often recalled because they fail safety standards and tend to overheat and in severe cases combust or explode), however, the fact is that at the current point in time and given the state of our technology the Li-on and Lipos are the best solution for all our mobile devices.

When you take a mobile phone or PDA or for that matter any other device out of its packaging you get a distinct feeling of satisfaction. The smell, the texture and the feeling of unwrapping a gift combine together to make it a most pleasurable experience (undoubtedly a great part of this feeling is purely psychological). However that shiny and glittering piece of electronic genius does not last like that forever, for like all things in this world, your mobile device will start to age and the silvery paint will start to come off and the body of the phone will have scratches and frayed edges but most importantly the screen of the phone will have lots of rough spots, scrapes, abrasions etc. This is mostly because once you have a new electronic device, it is almost nigh impossible to resist the temptation of pulling off the screen protector and other times it comes off in a short period of time in any case. This means that whenever the screen of your device is subjected to physical abuse it suffers without protection. While we cannot recommend any healing creams we can recommend a prevention method for as they say: prevention is better than cure. Therefore we can only recommend screen protectors, yes indeed. We fully agree with the manufacturers and definitely believe that screen protectors (in the form of transparent plastic stickers which are really thin) are the best method of protecting your device's display. For any of you who have tried those bulky, cumbersome, solid, plastic see-through covers must fully agree with the fact that they are not fit for human use.

In this day and age, mobile phones are no longer used just to make calls, devices such as smart phones and PDAs have evolved which make our lives so much easier by allowing us to type documents, take pictures, listen to songs, watch movies, etc on the go. This is all well and good of course but all these things require storage space and for this reason most mobile devices come with expandable memory so that where initially your mobile device might have had 10 MBs of space, you can expand it so that it has 2 GB worth of storage! Moreover, with advances in flash memory or solid state memory, newer mobile devices can have expanded memory of up to 8 GB. Expandable flash memory (SD cards, Micro SD, MMC, etc) data storage is not only used for mobile phones, PDAs and the like but is also used for digital cameras, portable MP3 players and recently have also been introduced for use in gaming consoles (Nintendo Wii, Sony PS3, etc). With the advent of flash drives capable of reading from and writing to SD, Micro SD and MMC cards data transfer to and from your PDA or other mobile device has never been simpler. Of course, the use of Bluetooth connectivity is in essence more user-friendly (all you have to do is turn on Bluetooth on both your PC and mobile device) it does suffer from low transfer rates (at the moment).

Styli (or stylus for singular) are rapidly becoming a common input method for mobile devices, they are highly appreciated by artists, engineers and the like (whose work involve drawing, etc) and who often use tablet PCs. While keyboards and mice are a tried and tested method of data input, styli take data input to a new level, not only can text (handwriting recognition) enable most people to be more comfortable writing text (most mobile devices do not come with a standard sized keyboard so typing can be quiite a chore). Most of the newer smart phones and PDAs come with touch-screens so styli are quite useful as not only do they provide a finer point of contact (thus enabling a fuller use of the touch-screen) but they also do not end up smudging the screen of your PDA (unlike your fingers).
